I wonder if you could get more of the signature sparkle in Emp’s outfit without the photoshop by using a light sprinkle of glitter between the layers of liquid latex?

paulhillier:

So when I heard that Adam Warren was coming down for TCAF This past weekend I was so stoked! He was a huge influence on me back when I was just a little Paul. He was one of if the the first to bring the manga style to the mainstream of comics and got me on the road to liking anime which lead to liking Japan which lead to moving there for 5 years of my life.

So in short I wanted to pay tribute to the man by doing a Photo Cosplay shoot of his current book Empowered (which is totally fun and you should all check it out!)

After showing the photos around, everyone said they loved them and that I was amazing at photoshop. Flattered as I was though I had to explain that it actually wasn’t that much photoshop. A lot of it was real prep in real life with a real awesome team of people! As well you can see in the side by side exactly what I did do in post. Mainly added a style to the photos, smooth out some of the streaks in the liquid latex and fix some of the lens distortion.

The following is a time lapse video of us getting the costume ready for for the shoot. When finished I think we had somewhere around 4 - 6 coats of Liquid latex. And when we were finished and ripped off the costume I think Christine was down one layer of skin. VIDEO: is not strictly safe for work http://youtu.be/6lpfDlJy12k

In the end I printed up the two photos, got a friend with far better handwriting than I to write the side notes as if they were the character and another friend with far prettier lips than mine for the kiss prints.

A note about the man, he was a true class act when I finally had the chance to hang out with him a little bit. “Looking forward to book 7 Adam thx!”

I have to thank my dear friend Christine who stood still mostly naked for 2 1/2 hours getting painted in liquid latex to become EMP

Thanks to both Matt and Marika whom with out their knowledge in latex , this would not have been possible. (above blogs are NSFW)

And thanks to Parish and Daisy in helping out in the post post

PS: My favorite part of the set up was ordering food for everyone and when the delivery guy walked into the studio, seeing him go beet red and averting his eyes to the extreme in all directions.

Michael Manning
Who are they: An illustrator/tattoo artist
Where do I find them: The Spider Garden, In A Metal Web (livejournal), The Art of Micheal Manning (facebook)
What do they draw: Latex, Bondage, Female Domination, Animal Play, Futanari
My Thoughts: Starting out with one of the big names any fetishist should know.  Michael Manning has been putting out his exceptional works of erotic art in book form since 1995. His stories include beautiful images of people in fantastic and elaborate states of bondage, along with detailed descriptions of the situations and worlds the characters find themselves in.  The work he creates is very exotic and unique.
I remember first seeing his work when I picked up a Marquis magazine one time when visiting London.  Ever since I’ve been enamoured with his work, and always held his costume design as my ultimate goal for fetish outfits.
On a personal note, it was a very special moment for me when I was having dinner with my partner in the early days of us going out, and she pulled out her copy of Michael’s Inamorata, and I realized we both had a love for the same sensual bondage imagery.
How do I give them money: Michael sells his illustrations/sketches/comic pages through his site, his prints through Obsession Art and his books through his website, amazon and Last Gasp Books.

Making Use of This Thing

So, I’m not really using this tumblr account for much, so I thought I’m thinking of posting a few reviews of some of my favorite fetish artists.  You often see models and photographers talked about or linked, but I’ve never found a good place of for finding a good resource for finding fetish (particularly latex) art, and given that I’ve found a few good ones over the years I thought I might share….

IAR Freedom of Speech (24/Jul/2011) - LATEX NEWSVisit LatexNews for great articles on Latex, Fashion and Fetish
“There is much discussion in the latex fetish scene about the activities of a number of chinese latex manufacturers, who came into the market with force, stealing both latex designs and even the photos from catalogues and magazines for their advertising.
They often use low quality latex material containing unknown chemicals and their workmanship often lacks quality as well. On the other hand, their designs are often sold at prices clearly below those of the original designers.
This topic is one of the most discussed topics among latex enthusiasts these days and so it was of course also being discussed on the IAR Latex Forum.
But no longer, because that forum is sponsored by one of those chinese latex companies and the forum owner now clearly forbids any negative statements about their sponsor, threatening all who violate that rule with being banned from the forum.
In a statement, he argued that a custom made-to-measure latex catsuit should not cost more than $ 100, which is simply impossible to make with good materials and workers, who are paid fairly. He has other bizarre opinions about these topics and it seems like his forum would be the ideal place to discuss them - if only he would allow this discussion, which he does not.
I find it sad, that a forum will sell freedom of speech for money. Might be better to get a different sponsor… P.S.: LatexNews needs sponsors as well, but I have refused several offers by companies, who are ignoring other people’s rights.”

Vacbed Experiences II

Last night was the second rubber-themed Sin City and, after several “are you bringing the vacbed again?” questions, I decided there might be some interest dragging that thing out with me.  So it was I found myself dolled up from head to toe in rubber and makeup with a massive backpack full of tubing and latex clambering on the Skytrain, standing at weird angles because the combination of the tubing sticking out of the top of my pack, and the platform boots made me way too tall for the train car.

On the train, my partner and I fielded question from a curious individual about Sin City, and what it was I was lugging around with me.  He seemed amused by our responses, and had thoughts of maybe coming to Sin himself someday.

Arriving at the club I began to setup the bed.  The setup this year was a little different, as the space in the dungeon I had used last year was no longer available, so this year they had roped off the pool table out in the club proper normally used by the vendors and gave me that space.  This made things a lot more public, both giving the bed more exposure, but requiring those entering it to be more comfortable with an audience.

The night started off fairly quiet and it took a while before the first person came over and tentatively asked me what this was and whether she could give it a go.  She stripped off most of her clothing, we slid her in and soon her friends were tickling and caressing her.  Before long I had a steady stream of people asking question about the bed, and wondering if they could give it a go.

The night kind of blurs after that.  I remember I had one lady whose small neck and, ummm… solid breasts made it hard to get a proper seal around the neck so we had to leave the vacuum on.  There was another woman who couldn’t remove her diamond ring, so she twisted it around and I had her make a fist while she was in the bed so it could scratch the latex.  We had guys and gals, rubberists and those who just wanted to try something new.  One potential issue with the public environment, and the proximity of the ropes meant that anyone could reach over and start groping the person in the bed, but most people climbing in didn’t have a problem with this.  There was one woman who was a little sensitive, but she made her feelings known and people backed off fairly quickly.  All the while I was fielding questions, passing out spare lube and shiner for those who needed it, and even helping to polish someone’s back as one of the resident photographers to pictures.

My partner wasn’t able to help me much this time round as she now co-ordinates the dungeon on these nights, but I was really fortunate in having several friends who were willing to help me out from time to time, just in reinforcing the bed as people got in, helping me get the sealing bar in place, and most importantly helping me disassemble the bed when I couldn’t get part of the bed assembly to unscrew after it was covered in lube.

I ended the night with a shift in the dungeon, before getting things together and heading homewards.  Luckily, Cutie Cupcake offered us a ride and we didn’t have to go hunting down taxis with all the equipment weighing us down.  Both us felt like our feet were about to fall off at that point, and the less walking the better.

The half hour after getting home found me in the shower rinsing off my clothing and the vacbed, before we both crashed at 4 in the morning.

Very cool.  I like the design.  It has a fair bit more detail than you see on most guys tops.
